"John and Linda, thank you so much for sharing this with us. Our stay truly has been magical. We want to recommend the Coniston Boating Centre as we took out a motorboat for four hours and had a barbecue on a jetty it was heaven! Also the Italian restaurant, Dobbs, in Ambleside was lovely. Having our dinner on the balcony at night listening to the river has definitely been a highlight, which is why we hope to see you again soon. We don't want to leave!" - March 2010

"May we say this has been a fantastic stay. Lodge is absolutely perfect. Thanks to John. The fire didn't work properly when we arrived but when John called to see if we had made it safely, we told him and within a few hours he had it fixed. Fab service. "Christmas Day! We couldn't have asked for more, waking up to a white Christmas. We took great pleasure in decorating the dining table where we had all the trimmings on a Christmas lunch, with help from the fantastic lodge facilities. However, best news came when a proposal took place between myself and my now fiance . Of course I accepted within the picturesque surroundings!! A big thanks to John and Linda for the best Christmas ever." - December 2009
"Firstly we would like to say we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Otter Lodge. The view with the snow has been absolutely stunning - like a Christmas card scene. the lodge itself was extremely clean and was kitted out with all the necessities and more. We took a walk to the Mortal Man and enjoyed a well deserved drink! We found the staff to be very polite and welcoming as we sat defrosting by the log fires. Also the Lighthouse restaurant in the town served good quality food. It's very apparent staying here that the lodge is well cared for by its owners. I was surprised with just the amount of "stuff" we had at our disposal.We stayed during some heavy snow and the lodge is well located. We did walks to Ambleside and Windermere -- although we feel very tired for it! We would recommend the lodge to family and friends without reservation. - December 2009 "

Location is great - we are not strangers to the Lakes, but we have not stayed on this side before - lovely. "What a "magical" stay we have had here at "Otter Lodge". The lodge stands in one of the best positions in the park. The brochure photos don't do it justice. The amenities on the site are superb. We must comment on the contents in the lodge. Talk about "home from home". NOTHING has been missed out at all, and it was all spotless and clean. It really is a credit to the owners, John & Linda, - two really lovely people. 10/10 We shall be back." - October 2009
