Otter Lodge
Otter Lodge is a comfortable and well equipped traditional pine lodge in the beautiful setting of Limefitt Park in Troutbeck.
Limefitt Park lies within the beautiful and tranquil Troutbeck Valley, but is within only a short distance of the major visitor centres like Ambleside and Bowness.
The Park is 3 miles north of Windermere on the A592 heading towards the Kirkstone Pass.
This fabulous location provides spectacular views and direct access to the fells.
Otter Lodge itself has a spacious and private location right beside Trout Beck.
This 2 bedroomed riverside log cabin provides comfortable accommodation for 4 people and up to two dogs.
The open plan lounge and dining area has a feature fire place with coal effect gas fire and a portable radiator for additional warmth if required.
A leather suite, of which the three seater sofa and the armchair both recline, adds an unusual touch of luxury, so you can literally put your feet up after a long day on the fells.
French windows open out onto the verandah overlooking Trout Beck and open fields beyond.
The lounge is equipped with a flat screen TV, an Ipod docking station, CD/Radio/Cassette player, a Sony PS2 and a selection of games.
There is a selection of board games.
The dining area has a pine dining suite with four chairs allowing you to eat in in comfort if you wish
There is a galley kitchen which is fully equipped with gas cooker, fridge, toaster, microwave and cafetiere. A full set of pans, cutlery and crockery mean that Otter Lodge will be a real home from home for you.
The master bedroom has a very comfortable double bed, overhead storage, a wardrobe and a dressing table. Heating is provided by a thermostatically controlled electric wall radiator so the bedroom is warm and cosy whatever the weather.
The bunk bedroom has a single bed with bunk bed over it, a wardrobe and a thermostatically controlled electric wall radiator. The bathroom features a hip bath with overhead shower, WC and basin.
Outside a covered verandah runs along one side the lodge providing a peaceful place to sit outside, enjoy the views and watch the wildlife whatever the weather. The verandah has a secure gate.
The verandah leads on to the spacious balcony which overlooks Trout Beck and which is like an extra room during the warm summer months. The balcony is equipped with four cast iron chairs with cushions, a parasol, and a large table
The balcony enjoys fabulous views of Wansfell Pike, the Hundreds, Applethwaite Fell and the Troutbeck Valley.
Whilst the views from the balcony are remarkably beautiful, the main feature is Trout Beck which flows directly beneath the balcony.
The gentle babbling of the beck as it flows past provides the perfect relaxing counterpoint to the fabulous scenery.
Above the lodge is parking space easily long enough for two cars and beside it is a private landscaped garden area.
Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome to stay with you at Otter Lodge. Please ask us for further details.
