The Lodge
Kingfisher Lodge is a comfortable and well equipped traditional pine log cabin situated within the award-winning Limefitt Park in Troutbeck.
Limefitt Park is set in the beautiful and tranquil Troutbeck Valley, but is within easy striking distance of the major tourist centres like Ambleside and Bowness.
The Park lies 3 miles north of Windermere on the A592 heading towards the Kirkstone Pass.
This superb location provides spectacularly beautiful views and direct access to the fells.
Kingfisher Lodge itself has a spacious and private location right beside Trout Beck.
The 2 bedroomed riverside lodge provides comfortable accommodation for 4 people and up to two dogs.
The open plan lounge and dining area has a feature fire place with coal effect gas fire and 2 portable radiators for additional flexibility.
A leather 3 piece suite, of which the two seater sofa and both armchairs recline, adds an unusual touch of luxury, so you can literally put your feet up after a long day on the fells.
French doors open out onto the verandah overlooking Trout Beck and open fields.
The lounge is equipped with a flat screen TV, an Ipod docking station, CD/Radio/Cassette player, a Sony PS2 and a selection of games.
There is also a selection of board games.
The dining area has a pine dining table and four chairs so you can easily and comfortably eat in if you wish
There is a fully equipped galley kitchen with gas cooker, fridge, toaster, microwave and cafetiere. A full set of pans, cutlery and crockery and a selection of culinary herbs mean that Kingfisher Lodge will be a real home from home for the duration of your stay.
The master bedroom has a high-quality double bed, overhead storage and a wardrobe, heating is provided by a thermostatically controlled electric wall radiator so it is cosy whatever the weather.
The twin bedroom has 2 single beds a large wardrobe and a thermostatically controlled electric wall radiator. The bathroom features a hip bath with overhead shower, WC and basin.
Outside a covered verandah runs along one side the lodge with a bench providing a peaceful place to sit outside, enjoy the views and watch the birds whatever the weather. The verandah has a secure gate and a dog tie up cable.
The verandah leads on to the extensive balcony which overlooks Trout Beck and which provides an extra room during the warm summer months. The balcony is equipped with four cast iron chairs with cushions, a parasol, and a large table
The balcony enjoys uninterrupted views of Wansfell Pike, the Hundreds, Applethwaite Fell and the Troutbeck Valley.
The views from the balcony are remarkably beautiful, but the main feature is Trout Beck which flows directly beneath the balcony.
The gentle babbling of the water as it flows past provides the perfect relaxing counterpoint to the fabulous scenery.
To the side of the lodge is parking space easily long enough for two cars and a private landscaped garden area.
